The resort is situated approximately 20 km’s outside Fort Portal in the western part of Uganda. It borders Kibale Forest National Park, one of the most beautiful tropical forests in the country with stunning bird and insect life and 13 species of primates, including a unique population of more than 1400 chimpanzees.
The forest also hosts forest elephants, buffaloes, bush pigs and duikers and a great variety of reptiles.
Although the climate is tropical, the place features clear and dry air owing to the relative high altitude, and is virtually mosquito free. A mean annual rainfall of more than 1200 mm combined with fertile volcanic soils ensure lush green vegetation throughout the year.
Follow the Kamwenge road from Fort Portal next to the Mpanga River Market for 17 km and take the left fork for a further 3 km towards Rweetera Trading Centre where the resort is signposted on the right.
